No you cant take your truck home for 7-8 days when you have a load to deliver. Maybe stop in and say hi while your passing through. But you need to get home time ok'd in advance. And you sure as heck wont be bringing a load home with you.

I know that I cant park a loaded rig at home for a few days, that's pretty obvious. I guess I should have made it clear that I already knew that part of it.
-
lol O good i was gonna say! The way it was worded made it look like that! Yeah they let you bring the rig home after you drop your trailer for approved home time.
-
The cool part for me is that they can have me drop the trailer. I have room at the house for the tractor, but not the trailer. When I was at Werner, they didn't allow me to drop the trailer at the Indy terminal, they made me keep it and find my own place to park it, even though I live in Indy! I had to park at the hook and have the wife come pick me up. Stupid.
-
Oh, we have the room to park it. It's getting it out that's kind of an issue...

I thought I would take a second to relay an experience with other perspective Prime Drivers. I am scheduled to be in Springfield on the 25th of this month. Like most of you It was not easy to choose which companies to consider. This morning I had the opportunity to speak with a Driver for Prime who I met at a truck stop. He was more then willing to talk. He said that he had been a drive for several companies and that Prime was his best experience so far. He was a lease driver and said he was averaging $1,000.00 or more a week. He said the miles & equipment were good and that they really looked out for their drivers.

Just had my Orientation changed from the 19th to the 26th. I will see you there ATM. I am arriving on the 25th.
GSWx Thanks this. -
Almost all companies don't put inverters in their trucks. A lot won't even allow you to put an inverter you pay for yourself in their trucks.
-
ATA's maintenance council says that improperly installed inverters are one of the top reasons for truck fires that destroy a tractor.
That being said, some numbnuts put a 3,000 watt inverter in one of our trucks... and burned it down to the chassis. If you want a different inverter in your truck (at Prime) take it to the detail shop in SPRIMO and let them do it for you. -
Update...
passed all my tests the first time, got permit.
Went out with Instructor.
Did 100 Hours in 13 days.
Back to to Springfield.
Got a all my tests the first time, $250 bonus.
Going out with a lease driver for trainer.....
I'm impressed with Prime. They have treated me like i belong here. The open door policy isn't just a saying , its real. Prime has great way of making me feel at home and relaxed.
