My husband works for Campbell trucking under the lease to purchase program. Their overhead is over $500 more than other companies. We pay for the fuel but they keep the surcharge. They like to send thier drivers where the fuel is very high. They also limit the amount of deisel you can put in the truck at a time (174 gallons) so you can't fill up when you find the cheapest fuel along your route. This is very frustrating as it cuts into our bottom line. Twice now we have had to get part of his paycheck by comdata due to huge clerical errors on thier part. He sent in his load information this week and they are stating that they didnt get it... no paycheck this week. If you like to get screwed this is the company for you.

How is it set in? Transflow? If so this can be done over the internet. If you physically send it in. Keep a spreadsheet of what load you are sending in and the location. Keep a copy of everything you send in.
Can you scan? If so, will they accept scan copies while the orginal paperwork is being send in? Cc yourself on any E-Mails to the company if you scan.

What kind of clerical errors? I used to do payroll for a trucking company in Iowa and I would have been murdered if I screwed up someone's check. That is UNACCEPTABLE!

If they are withholding th fuel surcharge from you, well you better call ooida.
That's illegal under federal truth & leasing regs if I'm not mistaken.
That's outright thievery! -
This all depends on the terms of your relationship with the company. For example, if you work on percentage of take basis, fuel surcharge is irrelevant. When I book a load, I look for the maximum dollars per mile, not how the broker decides to calssify the payment. I get loads that pay "to the truck" rate, but for their own books they record fuel surcharge on the confiramation. We had an O/O that was getting 80% of the take using company's trailer and getting 100% fuel advances, yet he still wanted fuel surcharge. Needless to say, he's no longer with our company.

Does your husband still work for them. I was thinking about doing there lease program. How many miles do you run a week? I have talked to a couple of people so far and also talked to 2 drivers there that i meet. They seem really pleased with they way things are going? Just need to see what i should be expecting
