Stab or Controlled Breaking Which Best/Fastest ?

Did someone get up on the wrong side of the bunk?

 

Maybe the co-driver was stab breaking.

This is the same manual that insists it takes longer to stop a MT trailer than a loaded one ??! WT_ ???

 

Yep, that would be the same manual and those who decided to put stab braking in a manual for new drivers need their heads examined. Stab braking is not only not efficient, but is unsafe for most veteran drivers and IMO is above reckless to recommend it to new drivers.

As far as stopping distance goes the main studies used were from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The latest being in 2006.

I read all the responses here, and the senior veteran drivers are very good. All new drivers, Look at how long these guys have been driving, they know what they are talking about. These guys should be charging the newbies for advice like this, FOR FREE. I will ad one thing for the newbies. When you brake, is your heel on the floor or up on the whole pedal ? Try this once and see if I'm right. Put your heel firmly on the floor, and press on the brake pedal. You will have much more control on how much pressure to apply to your brakes. I used to never take my heel off the floor.

 

You mean arguements?

It depends if you are wearing high heals or flip flops.
