Bad brokers

good idea..."bad broker thread"

 

Well sometimes i think its all in the agent that you deal with.

We've have hauled for G.W. Palmer before and haven't had any problem.


We got shafted by Pearce Worldwide Logistics.

Not all brokers or brokerages are bad and they are here for a reason.
If you want brokers gone you might as well extinct yourself the O/O.

 

Why did they shaft you? Filed on their bond yet?

I guess lot of the story is left out

 

We took a load for them(our first with them) that was supposed to pay flat rate and that is what the rate con said.

The place we loaded at put 39000 on the bills even thou we were gross out 44k plus little change. They cut the rate because they say we didn't load to gross.

It is really to little to fight over and they knew it.

We don't play the weight game and try our best to avoid it.

 

Isn't that what it always comes down to? You negotiate a fair rate then get after-the-fact nickel and dimed to death. The other day I came --><-- this close to cussing a broker out when talking about who's paying lumper charges. He caught me at the end of a difficult day and I just wasn't having it. I basically told him I got everyone else's hand in my GD pocket and I don't need another one. I'm already loaning you $1000 (or whatever the rate was) for however long it takes you to pay, now you want to take even more and I don't even get a thank you kiss? Forget it.

At least if I know that's how a broker operates up front, I have the opportunity to lift my rate a little to carry the accessorials, making me happy and them none the wiser.

 

Before I read your post I was thinking taters. I had a near miss with a load like that. Seemed ok on the surface until the broker got a little sketchy about the exact line haul and mumbled something about pay by the hundredweight. That, along with the expected cost of paying someone to clear the mashed potatoes out of my reefer floor and I turned it down. The rate wasn't a prize winner to begin with and I could see it would be all downhill from there.
