Flatbed question

This may seem obvious....
I learned you need to "X" Strap front and back for bagged onions....In addition to your straps and the tarps.
NO....I didn't lose any but, let's just say that it would been Salsa if it went over in NM...

That's surprising because usually it's the axles that fall off a transcraft not usually the loads.

love it, words of wisdom. Starting out on flatbed this week. Been yanking reefers for the past 2 years. Sick of the appoinments!

 

I got tossed into flatbedding with no experience and had to watch other drivers. One rule i always used and still do is if I feel unsure that i have enough straps/chains on a load I throw a couple more. An old timer told me that its cheap to throw straps and chains. Alot cheaper than picking a load up that fell off of your trailer. COMMON SENSE. Get you some or use what you already have and you'll be ok.

 

been pulling reefers for the past 2 years and was just fed up with appointments, lumper fees, trying to find a washout or a place to park.

I went to a 2 day crash course with Prime and I am on my forst load today. Wasted some valuable time getting out of the yard. I had strapped my 4x4s at the bacse of my headache rack. Looked good, neat. Except when I was maying my turn out of the parking spot I hear a weird crunching noise. The tailer had rode up on several. So, slid 5th wheel all the way back. Put 4x4s on top of rack with strapes, not bungie's until I can figure out something better.
