speed is not all it is cracked up to be I run fl-nj and back to fl. I can run 73 mph non-stop 11 hours straight with traffic and such guess what I average?.... 64 mph at best. 63mph X 11 hours 704 miles for the day.

now take a 63 mph truck you can probably average doing the same run maybe around 59 mph by days end 59mph average X 11 hours = 649 miles for the day.just my personal opinion here, but I'll take the 55 miles less over the stress of slowing down and having to get your speed back up in order to keep your average speed all day long bcause of the people in your way.I would rather set the cruise on 63 let the idiots come around me.alot less stress.you might say well you can set your cruise on 63 in the truck your driving now, well that is true but as tight of schedules as my company makes you have to get all you can get.point is by the end of the day a faster truck does not make you any more money then a 63 mph truck does especially if you own the truck it cost you more money.ie:fuel

You know it's kinda funny how it's sooo hard to find much on the GOOD trucking companies such as EPES,, yet you read ALOT about the bad companies and not so good ones.
Alot of drivers rely on this forum for the in's and out's of a company before making the big move to join one.
Before joining EPES when I drove for them ,I searched and searched for anything, good or bad to no avail ,, I've since moved on but will tell you straight out that if you live in the hiring area for EPES and like a stable, driver friendly company( except for BOB "Puke") and home weekly,, give them a call,,you won't regret it.

I have been tring to get the secert out ! 80 years and counting thats stable . Yes there are several that can say that , and it says volumes about all of them ! But epes has still got the small company feel !
