My technique did not help me unload 996 car tires in less than 3 hrs per stop, in fact the heat and lack of air in the trailer did not equal the $29 I got per stop..you would think, if I unload 250 tires in less than an hour, that would pay $29 an hour right? Wich only means I have to unload 4 tires a minute. What technique do you use for this one?

Tire load breakdown is as follows: 250 mi run at .36cpm=$90. $100 driver unload pay. $15 per stop pay (4x15=60). 90+100+60=$250. Load plan Transit time is less than 11 hrs. 250 tires at each stop. 11 hrs-5 hrs driving time leaves 6 hrs. 6 hrs / 1,000 tires = 2.7 tires a minute.

I drove for a gravel trucking company that would not let us idle. We would get to the sand pit at night, go in our kitchen, cook something, and take a shower. Our trucks could Idle while we were doing that but when we got in them to sleep they got turned off. Id just blast the a/c while i was eating and showering then Id turn my two little fans on to keep the air moving and strip down to my hanes. It took a little getting used to but really wasnt that bad. I actually found myself waking up a few times looking for a cover. This was in Southwest Louisiana so yeah its nice and humid almost year round.

How does this relate to knight? (no offense)

idle your truck until a warning on the dash says "idle shutdown". lightly depress the clutch and hold it until it says "idle shutdown cancelled" and it will run until you shut it off.

Well, duh. Your out of Texas. It's the out of area drivers that get screwed.

Well if I read correctly he said that he was forced to sleep in a hot truck because he couldn't idle. Sorry but I thought maybe I'd give him a tip to make life a little easier. I didn't realize that trying to help another driver wasn't allowed. Next time I'll check with you first. -
I work for knight and they have 1800 APU's sitting in phoenix only to get the tax break and they do not plan on putting them in the trucks during orientation they tell you not to idle or your truck speed will go down if you have to much idle time they will fire you so either you didnt listen during orientation or just want to complain
