Nope, it's the big clunker omnivision.

Do we have any trucks with the new one? I used an MCP200 at my last job, and I have to say, it's a long stride forward from the omnivision.

I think all of the trucks from 790 on will have the ones mounted on the dash. Not 100% sure but I think that's what Dean told me. Welp, I've seen my first snow of the season......ugh! It wasn't anything terrible just some flurries coming over Lookout Pass coming into Idaho last night.

It's good to read about the travels out west, haven't been yet. Rob you stand corrected on the newer QC's on the new trucks, I have 821 and the older version is mounted on the right of the cupholder near the floor, but at least it works. To digress, after making my final stop today Cory called me up and wanted me to go to X279 on I81 to p/u a trailer from a driver who dropped his clutch, or other associated tranny problems. After talking to the driver it seems that he had it serviced at Eddies last weekend, he did go on to say that the clutch felt different after the service.:biggrin_2554:

    Happy trails.

Matt Guard was you heading north on 87 yesterday afternoon (Tuesday)??? i think we meet right before your crossed the river...

also speaking of truck issues, i seen the guy thats driving my old rig 711... lets just say he's not the happiest guy, said he lost 3 days because the computer went out in the truck, still smoking like a wood stove and its been in the shop three times since it was assigned to him 3 weeks ago.... scary!!!

van wyk is the best trucking job ive ever had and i even left to go to a local route. now im thinking im gonna come back. seriously they were always honest and they knew my name not my truck number great people, and they treat you as a person then a driver...
i would hope that any driver would be lucky enough to have as great of an experience in their career.

I am still in training but I have to say that this looks to be a great company to work for. I am new to trucking but I am also mid 50s so been around enough to know when you are with nice people. Like you said, in this company you still have a name and number is second.

Went out to Iowa last week and had a chance to meet a lot more people and was very impressed with all.

OTR is going to be an adjustment but then again I married way up so the home is happy no matter.

Looks like I'll be getting my own truck in a couple weeks and as awesome as my trainer has been I am really looking forward to being able to arrange the sleeper and set it up as I am a guest right now.

Thanks to all for posting comments in the site as that made it easy to choose where to apply. The only thing I am surprised with is that Van Wyk does not take on students very often so I am very pleased that they decided to take a chance on me and give me a start.

    Best to all Ya'll

Welcome to the fleet 10plus8! Glad to hear you and your trainer are getting along, if I may ask who are you training with? That's the one thing I really appreciate around here, they are honest wheter it be good or bad. I would much rather know what's really going on instead of second guessing every little thing that I am told. I got home early Saturday morning from the beautiful Northwest and decided to have a short weekend with a buddy of mine in Omaha since my wife ran off for a girls weekend in Iowa City. A day and a half of nothing but football & being a bum is exactly what the doctor ordered! Even though I was out for two short weeks I just did a 34 and got back after it. Ended up doing a Schuyler to St. Cloud, MN then Dale hooked me up with a New Ulm, MN to Front Royal for Wednesday afternoon. Hopefully I'll run into some of you guys when I get out in that neck of the woods! Be safe all!
