Hello Prime drivers, and future drivers

If you need work on your truck, go to PRIPIT. They don't mess with the ECM.

 

Its a 2011 Cascadia, with the DD15 engine... It should do better than this. The truck just has no power. I tried keeping it above 1000rpm, like I was told in my upgrade class, but still doesnt help.

 

I suppose I'd have to drive it to see, but I got to tell ya guys... if it's Higgins messin' with the computer again, that just plain sucks.

ORD... maybe you should try to get into a PeterPacker. They locked those monkeys out of the ECM. My buddy Tim's Cascadia (a flatbed truck) will probably be available next week. He hung up his keys over the weekend.

 

I would like a Pete...Ive driven one, but not on the road. Only thing that concerns me is that they dont turn as well. Adds to the fact that our trailers dont turn as well... Some of the spots we have to get into are really tight. I'll deal with it though. Right now Ill take almost any truck I can get lol Wouldnt mind a Cascadia, as long as its got the power to actually pull the loads. Dont mind shifting, I like it. Just want a truck thats reasonable.

 

So basically they could be purposely messing with the computer to try and save money on fuel consumption or something?
Then in affect it makes your job harder because it makes the truck run like a beat dog so you need to do more shifting to compensate?
To top it off you have to just deal with it and not say anything like "hey this truck is running like fecal matter I need it fixed"?
Did I read that all correctly?

You really cant just say hey this needs to be fixed it is not running correctly and it could possibly be putting me in a dangerous situation seeing as how it has no power?

 

Not my truck. It was my trainers truck.

 

That's a good question but I doubt that will work I'm guessing they know what they want the trucks to do so they set them that way I usually didn't have a problem with hills on a light load in my trainers truck but it does suck not having the proper power for hills

 

Many of the carriers have been modifying the ECM settings to limit engine performance - the speed limiter setting is just one example. This started mostly in late 2008 after fuel prices spiked during the downturn. The idea is to cut back how quickly you can wrap the engine up, limiting fuel consumption.
