As far as sucking it up, I see you must be a newbie, you have listed 0-1 years as a trucker, you have only just begun, you do not have a clue of what you are talking about, get a few years driving in and then lets see what you have to say!!

Coming from someone listed as a truckers wife! LmfaoDrtyDiesel Thanks this.

Roehl isn't perfect, but they really aren't that bad. I run Midwest flatbed for them. I've never been treated poorly and this is the second time I've worked for them. I was a teamster for 2.5 years with Coca Cola before going back to Roehl. Your experience will vary because that's just how life works. I average about 2500 miles a week and I'm home every weekend. Just my two cents.
roehl929, sycofirefighter and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -
Before you make unfounded and unsupportable statements, get your facts straight. I have never received one dime for any recruit and I am not a recruiter or trainer. I have always said if I were grading Roehl I would give them a "C." That makes them the best of the worst or the worst of the best. My opinion depends on the day you ask me. Yes I made the move from company driver to owner/operator a year ago. Before you make disparaging comments about how I am financing my truck, you might want to learn a bit about running a business and examine Roehl's lease agreement. Read all of my posts about Roehl, I try to be honest and fair about my assessment of this company.
I am not aware that Everett or Rick Roehl own a private jet, although it wouldn't surprise me if they owned their own Cessna, but that's a big difference. Since Everett started this business with a single truck why shouldn't he enjoy the fruits of his labor? I'm not saying Roehl doesn't have cameras in some company trucks, but I haven't heard any other drivers commenting on it. If Roehl's turnover is less than 70% that is pretty good for a training company. Keep in mind that a local job in Jacksonville FL may not be available in Tampa or Orlando leave alone the Midwest. My opportunities would be completely different if I lived in Chicago or St. Louis instead of a farming town of 2000 people between the two. I'm not complaining, just pointing out the facts that anyone looking at a driving job as to deal with.
If people would quit looking at driving as a series of jobs and instead look at driving as a career they would take a giant leap forward in job satisfaction. You don't have to run in place your entire life. Just before you make a change make sure you know where you are going and that you have taken every opportunity to enhance your skills to move into that better job.Last edited: Oct 24, 2011

I find it funny how people get on here and say something bad about a company and expect people to just believe it right away. THEN, when you have ACTUAL drivers come on here and say something good about the company, the drivers are labeled as Recruiters or trainers.
You really need to think before you speak, or type, in this sense. Everyone's experiences are going to be different.
For you to come on this forum, as a trucker's wife and not a driver for this company, what you say cannot be credited as dictated. There for, what you say as you've experienced can't be established as fact since your not the one actually gaining the experience first hand.
Further more, please don't disregard anyone just because they haven't been trucking for more than a year, as you haven't even been a truck driver at all.notezbngrn71, varmit42 and roehl929 Thank this. -
Sorry I missed ya. Wasn't feeling well so I ended up taking some nyquil and zonking out.

There are negatives no matter where you go. I didn't start out at Roehl, but came here after a very bad experience at USA Truck. I've had my gripes with Roehl but all in all, they've always treated me fairly. I'm making a nice paycheck and I'm home every 18 days for four full days off to spend with my family.
Markus and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -
And that why the otr industry will never change. Too many people willing to work for less.

You seem so unhappy. Is it that bad being on o/o for your company? If so, why don't you leave?
