I usually don't start threads on this board. Maybe it is because I am not in the IN CROWD....but me being myself....I am gonna do it anyway...

So I started Schneider in June of 2011. Now it is October and I have a little bit more of an idea about the company. Let me just say this to all new drivers (rookies and veterans), please don't judge a company by what no knowledge truckers say about it. I mean no knowledge by speaking of those who bash companies that they have had no dealings with. Listen to those who have had dealings with the company.

In my case, Schneider has done me well. I hired on specifically for the new Masonite account. I was already familiar with the Masonite account as I hauled for Masonite for Werner a few years ago.

Let me say this, our account only has about 20 drivers so when I say my DBL knows my voice when I call, that is why. With this company, they really respected my experience level as I came in. You don't get that with some others...

So far my pay is salary. Which is good because my miles are not impressive. You see, we deliver doors to Home Depot and Lowe's in Texas and surrounding states. Most of my trailers have 5 to 7 drops. And when hauling to Home Depots, those can take time. Lowe's are better because of the hard working mantality....Home Depot??...I have seen homeless ppl work harder...

For new drivers just starting out, I have heard some good things about their training. I am doing more investigation on that side of it because alot of my subscribers on YouTube are prospective drivers.

So now, I am a happy camper.

For those of you who drive in and out of Dallas, try to look for me. I drive 36362 and it is a white flat top freight shaker.

Also, check out some of my Schneider vids on YouTube.

    I will keep yall updated...

My son drives for Schneider and is very happy. He's on one of the walmart fleets. Home every night and his pay is decent.. When he was with CRST all he did was complain. Now we talk about football, his kids and life in general.

I am glad he made the move..

So no bonus for me. My idle time was fine, but my I was over on my over speed.

So they want us to bust tail on the Masonite account. I do. I am one of the guys they call to do that "impossible" run. So I go 5 miles faster than what the company wants us too. I have seen times where I get to a place just in time...so if I would have went 60 the last 3 hours, I would have been 15 mins late..which would effect my whole week.

    "You need to slow down"

Ok, but if that is the case, some of my loads won't get done.....

So 3 weeks ago when they told me that I wasn't getting a bonus, you think I slowed down since?

    No bonus for me..

Some times bonus' aren't worth it. You have a reputation of being on time.....that is worth more to me than a couple hundred bucks every 3 or 4 months.

Ike, if I may, I feel like I know you from all of your Youtube videos. They are much appreciated and enjoyed. Keep it up.

I am one of your "newbie followers" who looks like he will be going to Schneider after CDL school. Waiting for my GI Bill benefits, then its off to school. Scneider is top of the list for a couple of reasons, one being the military/VA apprenctice program, the home time for drill, as I am still in the Air Force Reserves for another year until I retire, and the fact that SNI is as big with several opportunities to move into after some training and experience.

Anyway, greetings from Colorado Springs and look forward to more info both here and on Youtube.
