All of the mainstream OTR carriers are like this. It's all about recent experience. If you took too much time off between jobs, your 30+ years of driving history means nothing.

Not all. Roehl hired me at .41 because of my experience. JB, however, sucks bigtime. I spent a few very unhappy months getting screwed and lied to by them and would not driver for them again. They even called me a few weeks ago to try and hire me for a local job at .46 with a grand sign-on bonus and I said no thanks. One go around was enough for me with that outfit

they arent bad its all about where you are working for them dcs and intermodal are all great otr is where the problems start

My post read "If you took too much time off in-between jobs". As in, if more than 6 months you have to start from the bottom by taking a refresher. I was not talking about recent experience. Experience doesn't matter without a refresher if you took too much time off. The bottom feeders wouldn't even touch you with a barge pole.

most of the JB haters are all hearsay. I like listening to people bash a company they havent even worked for. I hear ALOT of drivers that say they went through orientation and thats it, or they worked 6 months. That is only one side of the story. All major companies run off the same regulations, the smaller ones have the luxury of going off the beaten path and taking short cuts. Thats why they arent considered as a good trucking company.
I have been working for JB for 1o years and most of this stuff on here doesnt make sense. I have been treated good and They really accept you for you. Now I am on a The DCS account which is a great system to work for, But as far as OTR its just like the rest. -
How fast are there trucks
-
All I know is I put in a application a while back for a local job with a local outfit, In WA and the next thing I know I am talking to a JBH recruiter from AR telling me about orientation at Eastgate 1100 miles from my house. Very deceptive practices by this company.
They also do not tell you that they only had part of the account with the cust who's trucks make 18 bucks a hr plus OT, while JBH was trying to pay .32 a mile to do the same exact job. Now .32 may get you a good house in AR but where I live you would be living in Gov housing or rent a room in someones basement -
Probably not fast enough for you, if that is all you're worried about.

Thanks for the response erick I just got off the phone with a recruiter her name was Bonnie. I think I might come on board she told me I can do 18 on and 3 days off .39cpm. You say it's money so I'm in if you don't mind me asking what account are you on? I spoke to a few drivers recently and they have no complaints as well

Really? That's all your concerned about? Wow, I bet you've had an amazing career up to now.
