I have a question.
Suppose you have a newly minted CDL from a driving school with 10 pre-hires.
You decide to go to orientation for company #1 and get sent home
Do you still have the option of going to orientation for one of the other nine companies?
Do you only get one chance at orientation

Yes you can go to another company for orientation and they will never know you were turned down by another company. You also do not need to mention that you were turned down by another company.
-
Sure why not? Keep tryin till get hired!
-
Don't say never............
sometimes they do..........
But as a rule, go to as many orientations as needed, or wanted !! -
Sometimes you can hide it, sometimes you can't. US Xpress wouldn't bring me up because they found out I was discharged by Werner, while Stevens brought me in and I didn't mention them. They did send me home for taking a certain medication, so Werner wasn't the issue. With the next company, they found out I worked for Werner, but that wasn't an issue and they are set to send me up in a few weeks.

I think the important thing to consider here is when the company sayes "hired" and makes you a trainee...
If you wash out of the prehire process, ie orientation, no issue....if you are sent out on the road with a trainer...you were hired since they had you fill out paperwork, ssn, etc, and started paying you...
i think failing an oreintation skills test, and getting sent home is one thing...
But getting sent home after going out is VERY different.RickG Thanks this. -
Great Info.

Some so-called companies, will nail your DAC, even if you never drive a mile for them.
That is why making good choices is so important.
Allll this has been covered many, many times on here.
Do your research !!!! -
I had a similar instance with Stevens and was sent home. In the same week I was down the road to my other pre-hire with WEL Companies. Went through OR 1 this week and going out with my trainer tomorrow. And no I didn't say anything to WEL about my medication cause doctor said I could go off them which I did before I got here. *just saying*

Erm, yeah you do. Especially if the reason you went home was due to a failed drug test. Never lie on a application. Going to a orientation means you're pre-hired, or hired depending on the circumstances. Getting sent home means you were fired.reptij said: ↑You also do not need to mention that you were turned down by another company.Click to expand...
