Well a little update. How things change in 24 hours. In the middle of my berth time we pull into a TS and I need to wet a tire any how so I get up. Trainer says he has a proposition for me. And gives me an offer I can't refuse. A really sweet deal. So I am going to stay team a few more weeks. This is what I wanted any how as I really would like someone in the truck the first time I see the white stuff from a truck since I have never driven a thing in the white stuff

Dang Snow
well we went through OKcity the time of the earthquakes not much of an issue. Driving at about 5:00 west of FLagstaff it starts to snow. OK cool Cruise off no jake slow down no issue. Then it really started to snow. Then I could see I was driving on the snow not the pavement. Well I woke up trainer and asked him to come up. He did and He gets buckled in and he says hey you are doing it all right good speed (I was at 35) but the snow pack was there and I have not driven in snow before. I was keeping a distance and all was well.
Then a lady in a hyundai decides to pass me and when she gets about 75 feet in front of me her car just starts spinning. She is spinning into my lane. I am not on the throttle much but I back off. I pull slightly to the right just put my right tires right of the rumble strip to avoide a tbone. we clear her with the cab but she goes under the trailer and takes out the reefer tank. Won't go into all the details but a DOT guy was right behind her. When the AHP shows up looking for a reason to ticket me the DOT guy tells him I saved her life and was at safe speed and there was no fault of mine. So the AHP does not issue a citation. Saftey was pretty cool about it. Went to kingmon for a fuel tank and delivered the load. Crazy though. It just goes to show you you can be doing all things right and the other drivers can mess up your day.

She probably never drove in snow before, either.

Glad you are ok, Gator.

thanks for the post gator..trying to make my choice between PRIME and 1 other Company.During your training were you getting the $600 or were your miles paying better?
-
It has gone both ways. I am on a lease op truck so for him and his business it is about revenue not miles. If you think about it in a lease situation the less miles for the same revenue the better. Some weeks we pass 5000 miles others we don't. there are too many variables. Like the week of the floods in the NE it was hard to get a load out.harleysmith64 Thanks this.

Glad it worked out for ya gator!
