    Thanks Todd for clearing that up. A friend of mine is diabetic and is not allowed to hold a CDL. So you say if you are Type2 then you are allowed to drive? Or does it solely have to do with taking the insulin? As long as you don't take insulin you can drive?

    Sorry don't mean to question the hell out of you but I'm sure this will help a lot of other newbies.

    Type 2 is ok, if it is under control with a pill. Some might to see an A1c test to make sure it is under control. I have never had a problem getting a physical and medical card, just make sure you meds are on the long form and card,

    I'm allowed to drive since I'm non insulin dependent, pill or diet, agreed with Catahoula a A1c might be asked for mine is usually around 7.5 and all is revealed on my long form and card. FMCSR states: § 391.41 Has no established medical history or clinical diagnosis of diabetes mellitus currently requiring insulin for control
