Yes,no one cares about your truck or wht damage it can imflict on them.ny is horrible I wont run it.mostly because it doesnt pay anymore to do it.the thing I do like about ny is the anarchy of traffic..just the lawlessness of it..it puts your skills into overdrive.think fast ...miami comes close to ny but that an animal I know.glad to read that you are doing good out there.ive been running light out west which is my kind of runnin.now that chain laws are back into effect its midwest,ne and se for me..oh the whole feeling like a midget in a 4 wheeler..this goes away but it takes a few months.sleeping anywhere but my cab is the big challenge now.

I was simply trying to point out that sometimes things don't quite go according to plan...................go according to plan...
Anyway, if we didn't get additional compensation, I wouldn't go into the city. It's not worth it, time wise.
Finished my run to Laredo and tonight I'm sitting in the USX terminal also located in Laredo. I have my next load assignment, which is a back haul to Greensburg, Indiana.
I'm sitting because I pointed out to the FM that the delivery appointment time could not be met. So they asked me to wait, so I sit attached to the trailer. With only a couple of hours available on my clock, it appears I'll be spending one more night in Laredo.
Safe as always, Sammycat. I still want that coffee.sammycat Thanks this. -
Just brewed a new pot Wedge but you are on the other side of the world it seems!
I hope you missed the east coast snow storm that hit the east coast a few days ago!
No snow here in Rochester but parts of downstate NY did get snow as many places on the east coast. I am not sad we didn't get the storm as it seemed like a bear!
So no NYC for you? Don't blame ya like you said with out the extra $$ it's so not worth it-the ex did a few runs through there and said it was hellish to say the least!!
Stay safe Wedge!!!Wedge Thanks this. -
Wedge I've been following your journey..and I value your and your reader's opinion. I've been reading these posts...and I lean toward a different carrier nearly every day. I've gotten pre hires from Schneider, Roehl, Stevens and now Prime. I want to do cross country OTR . Each carrier has their strengths... Prime and Stevens have very long training...but i have to Believe that it will be well worth it. I think in the end they will all pay about the same...
I think Prime may be a few cents per mile higher than the rest.....but, do you or any of your readers have thoughts or insights? I would love to hear them.

All the extra training is good IF you need it, most people dont need all that. That being said Prime is a Sheety company, and stevens is a starter company 1 year and they want you gone and are not shy about letting you know that your time is up and you need to move on. You could do much worse then either of them but you've got some great options in NY. Like Millis Transfer, Epes, and Watkins Shepard. You may even be able to look at WEL Companies.
Good Luck!

Prime doesnt care about their drivers. They run 62a in trucks with tiny sleepers just so they can haul more weight and forget about driver comfort.
They are also on elogs and push there crap lease like your going to make some money
They are also going to make each and every little choice for you so all you have to do is hold onto that steering wheel.
Maybe its just me but i like to do my job, not have a desk jocky 2000 miles away telling me what time to stop to piss.
Much more money to be had elsewhere

Thank you....I am glad to have an informed opinion. It is very confusing...when you view the writings of drivers who have been mistreated...only to discover that they were probably stupid or lazy....it's hard to know who to believe. Prime pays very well thru their extensive training ....made me think that higher pay = higher quality.so here's my dilemma... I want long coast to coast...all 48 states experience. Roehl doesn't get out west very much? SNI only has regional (NE) for new drivers... Trans AM, England, Prime are ones to stay away from...Stevens has very long training period. And tne pay per mile is quite a nit less than the others...? No? I know nobody's perfect....
