They offer me TRAILOR trailer, made in France, tint, look good, lift axe but with SMB axes. it is '96 with drum brakes. People say axes are exotic so I've never had SMB, so I need advice

Yes....we came across some French Trailors on the Irish market in the 1990's....they worked away alright, but the axles were very very expensive to overhaul, the parts were prohibitively expensive....We don't see much of them anymore.

If talking about reefers then Lamberet or Chereau made in France are one of the best, but use SAF axles and suspension.

Yep, I understand that Mond, Utility ore Koegel would be better choise, but Mond dry box is over $8000, good Koegel is over $10K. '98 Schmitz with BPW is $5000 but BPW axes are not the best for bad roads, I like Meritor axes and SAF, SMB is like a mix of SAF and fruehauf, bearings are SAF.

Price of trailer is relavitely low - $5000, and it is not a dry box, it is European Tint that may be used for side, rear and top loading, like flatbed. I like this trailer for good frame and floor condition, good tint and tint frame. but the only thing I'm not sure - SMB axes.
