Is that what I said? How much fuel could he have been burning at 62mph? If he has a lead foot from a dead stop lowering the top speed isnt going to stop that!

How about getting fired. Thats the next step after turning down the speed on the truck.

If your FM likes you, he may offer that you turn in your truck and go back out with a trainer to learn how to drive effeciently. Most guys cant swallow their pride and leave in a huff.

There's a guy around here on TTR that had that problem. He doesnt bother us anymore. I think he is on his 4th or 5th company now in just over 3 years.

Want to see a cool truck? Stop at Petro in Joplin, they have a KW in the showroom. It's Sleeper is all leather and the seats are the best on the market. Holly and I sat in it for a min and looked at each other and smiled, she really likes the roomy sleeper.

So they are basically just trying to get a point across to you then i take it!? Because if you are getting bad fuel mileage when governed at 62 there is either something wrong with your driving or something wrong with the truck. I mean 62 is slow enough I couldnt imagine having to do 57 in a 70mph zone. I would be scared everyone was going to rear end me as their trying to fly by me.

*I* don't have a problem driving my car at 60mph +/- 5mph in a 75 zone. Frankly, I like saving money at the pump, and when you fill up as often as I do, every 1 mpg increase helps. But then, I'm the one who stays far behind the rigs, and if I pass them I don't move back over till I can see the top lights on the cab.

Welcome! Helps that I'm married to a (now) trucker? But I always felt like the truck was the bigger dog at the fight, and my little car (whatever it was at the time) would lose. Now, I know that regardless of fault, the trucker will lose as much or more.:biggrin_2557:
