I did not loose my house, I did not miss a payment on anything....I am paying down my debt and providing for my Family!

There were guys like you trying to discourage me from getting into this industry 1.5 years ago! If I had listened to you then I would not have a home, and I would be on welfare!
    Glad I did not listen!!!!:biggrin_25523:

I'm right there with you! Getting ready to walk away from a 70K a year job first of January. The money was/is nice but the B.S. that comes with it isn't worth it.

I understand the joy of the people who avoided living on the streets thanks to the trucking, I was $150 (no exaggeration) away from sleeping under a bridge myself. Unfortunately, it's human nature to seek better things in life, once shock of imminent catastrophe is faded, your love affair with trucking will fade soon after that (most likely). If you are the guy who enjoys 14hrs work days, constant risk & stress, having no/little life, chronic professional deceases, modest compensation etc. you would love trucking for much longer (until discarded, cheated on work comp, etc.). There is a small chance you will avoid being discarded & cheated so you could love it to the very end. According to Trucker, the average life span of a "career" trucker (20 years +) is around 58 years old. Truck drivers live 10 to 15 years less than the average North American male. What not to love about that?

What does the average truck driver look like? I'll answer that for you: obese!

The tendency when working long hours is to eat unhealthy convenience foods, and to not exercise. Work on those two issues, and a trucker can significantly improve his/her lifespan.

dude u must have started with werner or something. the best money i have ever made in my life was my first year otr. i rarely got a paycheck less than 700/wk. my first year i made right at 40k. sorry for your luck if otr was that bad for you. who the hell spends 200/wk living expences on the road. im a light eater and drink mainly water, i do not smoke either but still, 200/wk is exagerating a bit mate.:biggrin_2559:
