hey guys. I got a question about the hearing test. i have read it is a forced whisper at 6 feet away. however is the room they do it in quiet. I have been working around all kinds of machines over the last 30 years. can hear a lot in a quiet area but background noise distracts me from hearing the quieter things. Now with saying that I can tell when something is making noise in my pickup even with the radio on ( a noise it normally does not make like when it started to tick or when one of my cars was making a noise when it shifted. is that the kind of stuff they are looking for?

The room is fairly quiet. They ask everyone to be as quiet as possible while testing.

I too am a little nervous about the orientation interview. Apparently my last employer stated on the fax to Prime that I was terminated, dont really know how that could have happened since I turned in my uniforms on my own, and was never talked too by anyone beforehand.....I have a great recruiter though who allowed me to call her cell late this evening and told me that the safety department approved my application even after receiving this fax from my previous employer, she says I should glide through everything, and to just be honest with the interviewer, if he/she even asks about it at all. I will be calling my old boss though and getting that settled on the way to SPRINGMO. Great info on the company all over this board, a BIG thanks to all the regular posters on here!

Really? It is impossible to be a successful driver if you use illegal drugs? Or they are just such horrible people that they only deserve to work at mcdonalds?

Would you say someone who drinks occasionally should not be a truck driver either? I would imagine that driving drunk would be much harder, and dangerous than driving high on weed, hell even cocaine.

I personally dont do any drugs, alcohol included. But I see so many people making lepers out of people who use illegal drugs while they themselves drink. Get off your high horse.

Actually just get off and away from the ILLEGAL drugs. See, they are ILLEGAL. Alcohol, although it is intoxicating it is not ILLEGAL. Although, should a driver decide to operate a tractor/trailer or any other vehicle while intoxicated he/she should have their CDL suspended. Does this clearify the matter for you?
