Sitting here at the Pilot in St. George UT using their internet. My verizion account got shut down after my Canadian one day usage fee of $1,700. Yes you read that right seventeen hundred dollars! This was about two months ago, I called verizion and asked if my plan would work in Canada. They told me for $30.00 a month I could add Canada to my plan. I told them I would only be there for one night and they told me the plan could be pro rated and should only cost a couple of bucks. I thought that would be worth it because I wouldn't have phone service and I'd check my email to see if my wife or anybody needed me. So that's what I did, and only checked my email twice. So about a month passes and I get a bill for the $1,700.00. I had a good laugh and called to inform them of the mistake. They agreed if might be excessive (duh) and passed me along through severals people until I got to the "manager" who assured me he would get to the bottom of it and call me back the next day. Guess what? He never called back, the next call I get is someone trying to collect the $1,700. They told me if I paid right then they would knock 25% off the bill. So I filed a complaint with the FCC.
Wow, was that the longest explanation ever as to way I haven't been on-line in a few days? Sorry just had to vent on that one.

Just wanted to chime in with a thanks to all for the great info. I got a call from Jeff B. at around noon today. Pending my background check I'll be haulin' glass with you all pretty soon. I live up in Minnesota right now so does anyone know what my "home terminal" will be? And yes, I am as green as I sound. Just got my CDL on the 27th. This thread has taught me more about real world trucking than my school could have ever hoped to. Again, thanks to all.
seawheeler and sewerman Thank this. -
Good luck to ya Torrath, as far as home terminal their isn't one. Maverick doesn't warehouse freight so you will rarely go to a terminal. Some maintenance items will be taken care of at terminal but that's about it. If there were a "Main Terminal" for glass it would be Laurinburg, NC. That's where you will do your glass training and the glass fleet managers are located there. Also, with glass you will be hauling throughout the lower 48 and Canada. You will be expected to stay out a minimum of two weeks at a time. So where you live has little to do with where you will be hauling.
Any more questions just ask. -
Got a 1100 mile deadhead move from St, George to Wichita Falls TX. So being empty I took the two lanes across the Indian reservations in northern AZ and saved about 200 miles. That should help out my out of route and MPGs. Got snowed on in the upper elevations, photos to come.

Got an out and back run from Wichita Falls, TX to BFE, MO. Ran out of hours after the delivery so have to sit here in Tulsa, OK for the rest of the day and then get back to TX first thing in the AM. This will give me a good opportunity to do laundry. I just about to start turning underwear inside out, I know TMA. This was a good run though, I'm pulling one of the EZ-Roll trailers. These are the ones that have the tarp on a frame work and they roll forward out of the way to load / unload. They should have a good load for me tomorrow as I need something to keep me running over the weekend, or they will have to pay me the 800 miles for staying out. I bet they get me a load.
