    Kwantz,

This is my last post to any of your posts. I try to be nice to you and you in turn treat others with no respect. You toss out names and slang terms that are demeaning to some. You have been on this site for a little over a month now and you are the expert in everything and anything.

I hope you have fun with your 100 mile WiFi circuit, since I am sure you do not carry a couple of hundred watt transmitter for the return packets for the internet signal. Handshaking is required for the internet to work and it is a two way street.

So, post what you please. You will not get a response from me.

    Mark

I've read a lot of your posts and they all say the same thing. They reflect that you are a moron who had nothing better to do than bash a product you have never used.
I enjoy my 510, I was only asking if that was a common problem.
Rand McNally customer service/tech support was top notch when I called with the problem. Loves went out of their way to help me. Mark had been excellent about answering peoples questions. You, however, have been nothing but an immature prick. We get it, you don't like Rand. Thats fine, I don't like Garmin. But that is my opinion that I don't push on others. You just need to back off and chill out. We are tired of seeing you as you are just a troll.

And Mark, thanks for your timely reply. Other than that issue I haven't had a single complaint out of my 510.

Not at all, but I don't have buyers remorse ever. I throughly research every high dollar item I buy. I knew the risks/reward going in. One thing to remember with electronics is there is always about 1/5 lemons. It happens. I once bought a $3000 plasma tv that screwed up the next day. No harm, no foul. They promptly replaced my defective item and I went happily on my way.

Most of the problems came from the 710. That is why I opted for the 510. I chose rand because it was the most user friendly, very accurate, and had the features I needed.

I asked for some help about a week ago when I was on home time concerning not being able to update my 510. My PC ( WIN 7) won't recognize the device. I did shut off my PC then re-boot to see if it would see it. It does see it as an unknown device but says it's not working correctly.( Code 43).

I LOVE my 510 as it is. It's a great tool. Helps me in the planning out of the loads and my days. Just would like to update it.

You know. I have had my 500 for three years now. I love the unit. All GPS units have issues. If I lost or broke my today I would stop at the next truck stop and fork over the money for a new one. This is a support thread where people who are having problems come for help. What part of that do you not get. Good grief ... move on and get a life. Go buy something else and don't waist my time and everyone else's reading your garbage.

I am a trainer and have had some trainees who have purchased over units and guess what....they have issues as well. SHOCKER. In most cases the trainees that have purchased another unit wish they had purchased the RAND unit after seeing it and how I USE it in my truck.

Sorry to all for the rant but after three years of reading junk like this I just had enough. I have seen the moderator (Mark) bend over back wards to help people that have been willing to take the help and work with him. It just goes to show "you can not please everyone".

    Thanks,

    Steve

Apparently I did something wrong when I tried to fix the truck.db issue. I hooked it to the computer, did a backup of user info, updated it, and here is where I went wrong, updated it again( forgetting the first thing it does is backup user info) which overwrote (I assume) my original backup. I updated it again because in the past when I would do that it would update a few files it missed the first time. So if your ifta miles are important to you don't make that mistake.
I'd like to thank Don aka Dieselboss for his time earlier today and Mark for helping get this issue figured out.
