I was an owner/operator with the company im at now. Now understand when i say that i mean i drove the truck of my choice purchased by my wifes dad and worked for him. Like most things business and family dont mix, im looking to go to another company but like having my own truck and i know Swift and J.B. Hunt as well as C.R. England have lease purchase programs. I just want to know if it is worth the money to lease/purchase with someone like that. I have not heard anything about it good or bad so i need an HONEST opinon. Not a bunch of the usual trucker B.S. I got a family and i dont want to make a bad investmet.

Almost everyone here is going to tell you to stay away from lease purchase. I have never had any experience with them but from what I understand the contracts are written to favor the companies. This is more of a heads-up for what you are about to hear than it is advice.

The search function is your friend. Lease purchase is a very difficult way to make it in this industry and a really bad way to try "ownership". Expenses are high a profit is nonexistent. Very few make it. The ones that do have a sound business mind, and they seldom get home to see family. I say don't waste your time/effort but its your choice good luck.

While I do agree with the previous comments that most companies that offer a lease purchase are pretty much screwing the drivers there are some like the one I am in that are better. After truck payment, insurance, fuel and maintenance account I am making about .56 per mile. Our program is set up where you own the truck at the end also. Company is American Central Transport.
