I lost my wallet a couple months ago somewhere between PA and FL, or so I thought. Even with passport, TWIC, and other various port id's, Sikorsky refused me entry. $100 cab ride to the DMV and I was in business. I went dumpster diving on the way back to the house at the rest area I slept at to no avail. Wallet end up being in dirty shorts I hadn't worn in 4 days. I carry two wallets, one for work and one with CC and dl, cwl, etc.

I lost my entire wallet a few years ago in a fire resulting from an accident( not at fault) in my truck in Texas. All I ended up with was a copy of my license and my soc. card. I gave the officers on scene the numbers, and that sufficed. The fun part was trying to get on that plane to fly home to Michigan with photocopied docs. (This was post 9/11). After 3 separate screenings ( no cavity searches thank God), they did let me through security. I guess I have an honest face. The waitress in the airport restaurant wouldn't serve me though, they didn't like my paper copies. Thankfully the stewardess took pity on me once aboard the plane and I got a drink. (Not a lush, but when work is done, I much enjoy a drink or two =)
