Depending in vocal inflection, it could be an appropriate question for me to ask you, IP.
You would be asking me: "Are you a female trainer?
And I would turn around and ask you: "Are you a female trainer?" Well, are ya? Isn't your dog a girl?

Here is a point that several of you missed. Women with experience are being put on Prime's list. Why? Because of their gender. They know the industry and could possibly have more experience than the trainer that refuses to "train" them. Any new hire has to go out with a trainer
-
If you hire on with a carrier and they cannot train you then why not just find another company? People are much too quick to hire a lawyer to beat up on the company rather than handling the situation themselves. There will always be discrimination of some sort. There are people who are discriminated for gender, age and a number of other reasons. What some consider discrimination may not be discrimination at all. Just suck it up and take your toys and find another company. I can't see wasting time on something that I cannot change. When lawsuits are filed, it makes companies much more cautious about hiring people that are similar to the one filing the suit. Were it not for litigation, more women would likely have been able to train with a male trainer instead of having to wait for a woman. I could cite other examples, but until people start taking responsibility for themselves then things are not going to change. Just go with another company.

Seems to me a good question to ask a company is the wait time for a trainer? If they have a long list of students waiting you may want to look elsewhere.
-
It could be an even long, long, longer, wait, waiting on a gay trainer..but your OK with LLLOOOOONNNNGGG aren't you ??

-
Talk about being dammed if you do, dammed if you dont. I would have personally have made any female applicant sign a statement regarding that they either wait until a female trainer becomes available or choose to accept a male trainer and waive their legal rights of filing a complaint regarding sexual harrasment.

Interesting solution. Not very bright, but interesting nonetheless. If you were to place such a "contract" on the table, I think it would be more binding with caveats and definitions. "This is sexual harassment and reportable, this is not. If the company does not react in _______ fashion, then you have a right to sue"
It's just too bad people can't behave like civilized adults.ironpony Thanks this. -
I trained two female students while at Prime. I interviewed them at the terminal to make sure we'd get along before even letting them near my truck.
