I checked out that link and would NEVER lease my truck to these people. They base IFTA on 5.52 mpg average and keep the overage. I looked at their freight board and EVERY load in my area was also on the Landstar board. Looks like a bunch of cut and paste agents to me.

It's like that with many companies. That is freight they can get, they just don't except it till they have a truck for it.

Well thanks for all the info. I appreciate the help. I have a few uncle's that currently haul for BESL Transfer and I had talked to Besl in the past but they didn't think I had enough expierence. I have been talking to them agian and now I have enough to go to work. They also have some trailers available. Agian Thanks for the help.
Vampire Thanks this. -
I am running out of the Lake Station office for Larry and also out of Roachdale, Indiana. Seems like I got in where I want to be. So thanks agian.

I have seen variations of this post several times. Decided to take a look for the at endorsement. I would love to see a link to that. If they are endorsed by OOIDA then I'm sorry for doubting you.
-
Are you leased to these folks (American Transport Inc), MMM ?
If yes, Cool ! How well do you do with them ? -
Did you click on the link and read the info? I can't understand why anyone would want to lease to someone who requires all of your plate and insurance money up front. They will file your IFTA but only base it on 5.52 MPG. If you get better fuel mileage than this, they keep the overage. All of the freight I could find on their board was freight that was on both of the other boards I use. I don't believe for one minute that OOIDA would endorse a company like this. If they did they need their heads examined.

Living in around Indy. If you don't mind tarping Miller Transfer or Edwards. They are both the same Co. They have a terminal in Indy right off of West St. They mostly haul machine tools. And you can pull a company trailer for a Percentage. I worked there for 2 years and enjoyed it. My brothers a company driver there doing heavy haul. No forced dispatch. And they run an honest board for freight. They also have terminals all over the country.
Just a thought in case you don't want to lease to the big Co's. They run about 200 trucks and have great rates.. -
Doesn't sound too good. -
Shouldn't you have your own plates and insurance anyway???
luddybuddy and alien4fish Thank this.
