    Hey you guys thanks for you help. I think I got it. There is a broke bolt where turbo bolts up to exhaust. That I believe is it. I was told that would cause both lower power and bad fuel mileage. Not to mention a little noise. I also found pin hole in one boot.

    It has been my experience with them that it could be an EGR or Turbo. These turbos stick watch your turbo pressure and pyro temp. And if there is to much smoke intermittant could say turbo or EGR not that cummins is good at calling it since they don't want to admit it.! I have had to make them pull my trucks down, wven though there insight tells them they don't need to be and I have been right every time!! Good luck
