Thanks and Im not carrying rags at this time, I guess im a lazy flatbedder
I have been looking at them though, thinking I may eventually have to get a set. Got any favorite ones you like using? LOL (just keeping it lighthearted here)
-
Lol.. You can't fix a transcrack. You just keep welding and adding metal every weekend. I would be more scared of a transcrack if it wasn't falling apart.
luddybuddy and BigBadBill Thank this. -
Then you would be terrified of mine
.
Cummins_444 Thanks this. -
Give it a few years. They always show their true colors. Reason why they don't hold value.

I am guessing you haven't looked at the used flatbed market recently. I am sending a deposit on one that the sales manager hasn't even seen yet. If it is what the seller says then it will be a great deal. But not holding my breath. But this is about the only way you can get a decent deal these days.

Unfortunately I'm in the market for two new reitnouer trailers and most likely a MAC step. Used reitnouers are going for crazy prices. For a little more I can get ones built the way I want. I called a dealer that advertised six identical used reitnouers. Told me they were already sold before the add came out. But offered me many used transcraft they had. It's sad when late 90s reitnouers go for more money then 8-10 year newer transcracks. And the reitnouers still move at those crazy prices. I would rather buy new, because time you put brakes or tires on a used one you are at the same or close to the price of a new reitnouer.
Trust me I know the used trailer market. I just unloaded a transcrack that had seen better days. 5500 sold in an hour of being posted. -
I've been looking for a stepdeck. What do you gents think of Wilson and Manac? I've been looking at Benson as well.
-
Well I don't have any experience with manac. Wilson my only contact was through a customer that had some regular flats in their fleet. I didn't like the winches on the outside rail, scuffed the rail up.
I like my reitnouer step. Great customer service. The fontaine step I had was good, it just was a boat anchor.
I'm leaning to try a MAC step. They seem to be built like a rock, and they are fully aluminum unlike the reitnouer which has steel in the neck.
I would suggest going light.Last edited: Nov 10, 2011
Winchester Magnum Thanks this. -
Im looking at getting a Manac 53ft step with sliding tandem. Hauling a ravens 48 ft flat right now and been pretty happy with it, its seen better days definitely. Dont know anything about wilson or benson but the manac so far seems to be decent from what I have seen.
Winchester Magnum Thanks this.
