There you go... a 475 CAT with 3:55 rears is 3mph SLOWER on hills then 475 ISX with taller 3:36 (I don't even mention 13 vs 10 speed advantage on CAT part). But it needs 0.7 mpg MORE FUEL to achieve that:biggrin_2554:

Acerts are just not in the same league with Cummins. What a lousy POS these yellow motors became...

Not that it matters but, while the Power stroke does use HEUI injectors, I believe the Cat truck engines use MEUI injectors.

So what you're saying is I need to throw a couple grand into my Cat to get the performance and fuel economy as my old Cummins? Hmmmm

Pretty much thats what I'm saying. 2006 ISX is perfect motor in many ways with the only exceptions of EGR emmision system which ruins those motors. 90% problems are coming from soot and bad combustion. Those who were smart enough to stop this insanity at early age of the motors enjoy power and mpg at the same time. Problem is, people learn from mistakes mostly... now it's too late to reverse the damage in most cases

On the other note...thats the sign of times where everyone look for easy breezy life... It sure is end of proud O/O's era... they get relaced with bunch of broke, ignorant wheel holders stupid enough to lease purchase at Schneider :biggrin_25525:

Well I guess I made my bed, now I have to sleep in it. I think my next step is to put 3:36 rears in it to get those rpms down. Right now at 71mph I'm turning 1500rpms. How many rpms would it drop with the gear change? I'm running low pro 22.5s
