All the more reason for a solo not to work there, Did you forget they pay by the mile? Wheels ain't turnin you ain't earnin. Can't run miles sitting at the rail yard waiting for that 100 mile run to be taken off the rail chassis for hours.
If a solo is dp on a cross country 2200 mile run with 4 days on it at USX, which is plenty of time to do legally. And a team just dropped their load they don't want the solo to swap out to the teams mty trl because they have been sitting for a half hour and fluffy is getting restless? well stop the presses USX has changed their ways. Not And solos they will tell you that the team is due for home time or has a urgent doctor appt, and will never tell you that they just screwed you out of hundreds of dollars because we got to keep are teams happy so they don't jump ship to another company.
There is a reason most good posts about USX are from team or lease drivers. They want to keep the solos their to do there grunt work for them so they can stay rollin on the interstate.
If you call a recruiter and they admit they are a team orientated company and plop their loads on the rail You are seriously going to hamper your earnings potential as a solo at said company. Thats a fact.

I agee with big blue 100%.As for driving a solo co.trk you become really a glorified local del expert, mostly in the northeast to boot.Heard alot of stories from co drivers about how they would get routed up north and be there for weeks doing 100-200 mile live unload dels.I did the lease deal with them and did ok but after being off for a couple months,I've done alot af research and wont be going back.Theres good companys out there you just have to have a good record and experience and then you can pick the right co for what you want to do.If you dont have those you can count on being taken advantage of by these bottom feeder co.s

I used to sit there and watch them at Coca-Cola....
Never saw so many drivers, damage so many trailers in 1 day.

I ran Home Depot Dedicated and made excellent money for a long time my DM was Jason W and he didn't take any crap(like me).
Then when I switched to a home daily account he wanted me back at home depot because like you guys are saying there are alot of F##^ ups driving for them but if your good they will keep you moving I averaged 3100+ a week every week.
No A@# kissing involved I did my JOB!!! Hell they got me a brand new(to me)2011 pete 387 after my century crapped out(775k miles) that use to be a lease truck with only 78k on it and never turned it down.
I think USX is a highly advanced company lots of helpful gadgets
but that's mine opinion.
Oh yeah that was a Midwest account K -
All BS my wife went into early labor and I was under load they removed it found a place to park the truck found me a rental agency and I was gone!!
I all I have to say is DO YOUR DA#$ JOB and quit whining and blaming everybody but Y O U.
I would go back to them in a heartbeat and can(no burnt bridges) I am doing IC for a different company ($$$) had to, they let me in with no O/O experience.
