    ###### too late for me I just finished orientation at the Allentown terminal, brief explanation about orientation... Out of 11 that started 3 were sent home because of drugs on the piss test.. The rest of us 3 could barely speak English, 1 hillbilly who didn't know left from right, sleeping beauty who spend 3/4 of orientation sleeping, and the annoying yet helpful young Hispanic guy who happen to be a veteran and smart ##### this guy finished all the test within 2 hours and the instructors named him instructor helper for the rest of the day 1/2 left I swear I got fed up with him and his " attention to detail" bs( he also recommend me this site). Now we are just sitting in a 2 star at best quality inn far away from everything and vending machines that will break the bank in no time until at least Monday. So far not a good start hopefully it will get better.

I almost went to this company. Then I researched, looked, and asked the recruiter some tough questions that left him stumped.... Found out about the sliding pay scale and decided this was not the company for me. Oh, I forgot to mention the time spent running team, when it is supposed to be training. No thanks.:biggrin_2556:

Showers doesn't cost that much at a truck stop.. most of them even offer a towel.
I am with you and seeking to drive solo at some point after my training. But guess I will have to put up with BS from another: providing it's not smoking around me, a filthy truck and a man or woman who smells as if they've been homeless for a few weeks. Come on now a clean truck in side and out, sharp people behind the wheel who have a IQ about room temp is not asking for much. As for Swift I 've talked with few past drivers.. they say drivers be aware. What's good for other's may not work for you. Ask lot's of questions. This form appears to provide many who care and will tell it to you straight.

    Ruckie,

If you are a female, or a nonsmoker, it takes longer. Just wait, and get it over with ASAP.

So I got 1 week working with werner, so I get picked up by my trainer white guy from the south with the strongest accent ever he reminds me of bubba jay from the jeff dunham stand up, since I took my cdl driving test in a automatic it was a ####### slap on the face when I sat in this 9 speed peterbilt 387 I drove from allentown to south boston to work with the dollar general account I also got my first hard braking that messed me up I still try not to hit them too hard... only god knows how much I hate the hills of virginia and nc and I only got 3 days in, I drive most of the day when I'm not unloading I truly don't think I got even 25 hours under my belt but I'm in it until I finished even when I have to spend thanksgiving in a hotel or a house when I have to spend it in a place where I only know my trainer. I'm praying hard to have my truck by xmas.
