there is no way to stop your 14. and you cannot or should not use line 1 at a customer you should be one line 2 since your still responsible for the truck/trailer you have not been releived of duty.

i guess, but i we make our money driving not sitting and begging to get paid for it. I would rather be able to move 2 miles to a truck stop and not have a permanate computer record of violating a federal law.

and yes for most of us the logbook is to make Mr. DOT happy, it sure isnt for safety!:biggrin_2559:

thats good to hear, my concern is wasted hours. You guys are home most if not all weekends for a reset. I'd be out 4-5 weeks at a time with these guys. And I sware if I have to do a 34 anywhere but a Truck/Stop or hotel some one is gonna get smacked!:biggrin_25510:

I think people worry WAY to much about e-logs. I have them. Have had them for a month or so now. Honestly I think it saves time and like WCP is saying it's nice to have something right there that shows I was where and when exactly when I was suppose to be. Have I run over before... Absolutely. Nothing major I think the worst was 15 minutes. Nobody ever spoke a word about it. Just like with paper what are you going to do when the clock strikes 0:00 stop on the side of the road.

AT eLogs aren't going to cause you as much headache as you may think. I know that you can trip plan, I've read some of your threads about it. Since you have an understanding of the HOS and how they work eLogs will change very little. You seem tech savvy so I would say a week or so and you'll have the eLog system down. Check with the company to see what their policy is on using the split sleeper, and how their logs are calibrated. Does it flip to driving after .7 miles, 2 miles, 5 miles? Then ask if they allow Off Duty (PC).

Best of luck to you, I think things will go well for ya.

    American-Trucker Thanks this.
