    I've now been told 2 different things by 2 different "experts".

    Is a 2003 Cummins ISX "pre-egr"???? Or is there both out there from that year?

    open a hood and check. Pre egr ISX got no VGT, and old CM570 ECU

    I own the business, I don't know what I'm doing!

    On a more serious note, I do drive once in a while myself, and this is my first go around with any engine newer than a 2000. Pre EGR has no VGT? And the VGT is what and located where? LOL.

    There are a lot of '03 trucks out there that have '02 engines in them, so it's possible to have either engine in an '03 truck. The cutoff date for the engines was October '02, but the engine manufacturers made a surplus of engines before the cutoff.

    Take a picture of the engine and post it here. Some mechanic on here will tell you whether it has the EGR on it.

    So my 2003 ISX definitely has the EGR.

    Always had old school trucks without all this crap, can't find on this board anywhere info on the early ones, just complaints about 2006+.

    Any info on what I can expect for headaches with this? The ISX just turned 500,000, running great.

    If this is pre egr ISX it will be one of the best ISX engines
    I think if you look on turbo and see cylinder with a rod on a central part of the turbo -thats egr engine ,if turbo does not have that crap thats non egr.
