No not me!! ...but a former associate........
Rolled a hazmat load...... alcohol involved ( yes, a DWI ) but no civilian injuries / involvement .Truck totaled along with other property damage and citations too.
Obviously the driver is done for awhile....... is it permanent? Is the CDL / hazmat pulled for good? Anything else to know?
And you don't want the details either...... there was no equipment failure and no brake action and that says enough.

Wow. Just. Wow.
I have no clue as to the CDL repurcussions, but...... -
"Alcohol involved"?
....... is it permanent?
If you're saying that the driver was even remotely intoxicated, then one can only hope that he/she is permanently prohibited from driving a vehicle requriing a CDL.Mommas_money_maker, otherhalftw and Everett Thank this. -
Wow................

Knowing the driver; the question is about what legal penalty the driver will face. I doubt the driver will want to drive again as I'm sure the lapse in judgement will serve as the drivers own prison.
-
Lapse in judgement? -
In NYS for your first offense with a BAC of .04% or higher you will lose your CDL for at least 3 years if the offense occurs while you are operating a CMV that is placarded for hazardous materials.
chalupa Thanks this. -
That's the federal requirement as well under 383.51. Second or subsequent offense is a life disqualification.

He should get used to saying, "Do you want fries with that?"Skunk_Truck_2590 and Mommas_money_maker Thank this.
