    Just got word that everything was approved for me to start training in Texas on Monday. I am so glad I didnt go with Swift after hearing and reading all the horror stories. Only bad part is that I have to drive 2 hrs tomorrow to get a certified copy of my birth certificate but its all good. Hopefully the Texas cld permit test is similar to Virginia because I already have my Virginia permit. :biggrin_25525:

    I'll be there on the 28th. Was originally sched for the 21st but didn't want to spend Thanksgiving there, will already be away on christmas so I pushed it back a week.

    i am starting on dec 5th....looking forward to it....son may be going with me as team drivers...just nervous with winter hitting ....drove straight out of chicago many years ago...but never drove any further than 500 out and 500 back.....as far as in my truck i have driven from cape hatteras nc to hobart ind to kenton tn which is around 1400 miles non stop....i love to drive....

    Im actually glad I will be with a trainger during the winter I would rather do it now than to have to figure it out on my own later. Only thing that sucks is missing the holidays but it is what it is. I am ready for my new career.

    DPS in TX is simple. Dont sweat it. Just take command, and make the examiner your #####.

    BTW pay the 30 bucks a night and have a single at the Country Inn and screw those "Free" Pads at the school. Those are absoultuly CLAUSTRPHOBIC!!!!!! 6'x8' rooms for a single...

    A Prison cell is bigger... WTF???

    You will meet some really good people though...

    looks like i start on the 28th, not sure if i will do the hotel or stay in broom closet at the school. I drove for lisa motor lines almost 6 yrs ago. If they are doing training at the lisa terminal then i have stayed at the rooms upstairs before. those rooms were only option when truck was in the shop unless they were all full then you get hotel option. am ready to get started and get my truck and make some money.
