high flow mufflers

    I run a single Donaldson M100463(3200 cfm) on an MXS 550 with a tweaked BD tune and it works just fine. 850-875 max egt.
    the 463 is a standard size muffler and i believe the muffler on a 387 is longer than standard. you may need a longer stack.

    good info...

    do most folks in class 8's use pre or post turbo pyrometers? im going to mount one along with a boost gauge and wondering what the standard is

    i always mounted them pre turbo in my pickup trucks(cummins and powerstrokes) and never take them past 1250* for long

    Post turbo is the industry standard for Class 8 trucks. The reason for this is the long hours of operation and use. Nobody wants a probe failure destroying a turbo.

    1050* F is acceptable for a long pull. I've seen 1150-1250 for short bursts in my own truck

    so if you stay under 1000 post turbo your good to go

    yes this would be in the safe range for a post turbo probe installation

    walkers 22 964 is a 9 inch round

    walker 22 963 is a 10 inch round

    walker 22 980 is a 10 inch round for quieter jake brake
