I would guess not, but need to look to find out for sure.
It's more obvious than I thought when poking around. -
Just curious, but with all the trouble I read about with EGR's, has anyone ever had NO trouble with a engine with one of these things?
Or do they all cause headaches, and frequently??? -
I have a 2003 ISX pre-egr. It's been a great engine. With over 1,000,000 miles on it now, I'm looking into getting a recon. This year oil consumption went from 1 gal per 7000 miles, to 1 gal per 5,000 miles. I'd rather do it at the end of the year for tax purposes, but love my pre-egr ISX. I have two egr engines in 2005 trucks that have not been that bad, but the fuel mileage is not what I get out of the pre-egr ISX. That's why I will put a new engine in instead of getting another truck. Although the 2003 ISX Recon will be about $27,000 installed, it uses about $20,000 less fuel per year to run the same amount of miles, so for me the payback is in fuel.
