I recieved an email from 2 companies the other day wanting me to contact them about a job. So now i have 3 companies looking into hiring me but i tend to ignore most of the recruiters, because i fell for recruiter BS when i joined the military lol not going to fall for it here as well. So the companies are Volunteer Express, EPES, and Sharp Transport. If anyone knows anything at all about them please let me know. A friend of mine went to work for Marten and said they told him all about being home weekends to be with his family and what not, he has not seen home in over 2 months. This will not be something i want to deal with. Tho my situation is different Christmas is comming and it will be the first one for my son and things like that i just dont want to miss. Please answer this honestly, i dont have 30 yrs on the road but after a week you tend to know that most drivers are full of it. A good honest opinion or first hand knowledge is prefered. Thanks drivers, Be safe, Hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving!![]()
Just want to know about a couple companies

Sharp or Volunteer either one would work best and get you home weekends since they are TN based companies. Epes would do the same, but maybe not since where you live. If you lived in NC they definitely would. Any of the 3 would be a decent company in my o. Volunteer still hasn't cut their trucks below 75 or 70mph if that matters. Sharp is 65 and Epes 64.
volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
If you want to be home EVERY weekend, you may want to go flatbed. Most of the national carriers try to do it. I worked for one OTR that DID do it. I now work for one local that DOES do it. F.Y.I. Happy T-Day!

Sharp, Volunteer, and Epes are all regional dry van carriers that will get you home every weekend. Epes maybe not so since he lives in Nashville... All three run a lot of east coast and what comprises a "weekend" will vary depending on freight volume. I also recall Volunteer has local PD opportunities in Nashville or Memphis (possibly other areas of TN) if that is something that might be a plus for the OP.

I can't confirm it. Vol may want you to "fudge" your logs. Very cliqueish.
