    I'm surprised the Steering Wheel Holder didn't claim...."Uh officer....The bridge moved on me....It's the bridge's fault....." :biggrin_25526:

If you watch the news report it says that the police report that bridge is hit every couple of months. HMMM....

Oh did somebody get their feelings hurt. Plus does it make me more creditable if I have 30 years written up there?

Feelings hurt? Not even close. Just stating the facts.

I agree with you. People take care of things they own more than somebody else's property. But, many OO drive for the mega carriers, so just because it says swift, the truck could have been driven by an OO or a lease driver. Or you are correct, it could be drove by one of use newbies. I just hate the assumption that you are not safe when you drive for Swift.

The ones saying that even though it was raining so hard you couldn't see and it was dark also but the driver should have seen the low bridge are probably the drivers that we see sitting parked under the overpass afraid to drive on down the road or the ones filling up the T/S just because of rain. The driver was probably busy looking right in front of him trying to see the road instead of looking up above for a low bridge. Just my 2cents.

"Otter" (Aka "Otherhalf") drives for Swift....But the reason why he is as good as he is....He takes "Ownership" of his Rig, his safety, and his career at Swift....
Perhaps if other company drivers did that....The public at large, would have a higher opinion of truckers in general...

I agree that my credibility may be low, but also think that just looking at the obvious - there are many wrecks that are not Swift drivers, but they seem to get bashed the most. Any accident is unacceptable, regardless of who did it. I don't think that statement has anything to do with credibility.

I have been driving an automobile for for 38 years. 29 years of hauling a 37+ foot fifth wheel. Never had a ticket, wreck or made an insurance claim. I put 75,000 miles on my pickup towing my 5th wheel over the past few years.

Sure that does not give me trucking credibility, but it does give me credibility as a responsible driver.
