You must not have seen the latest Email from Prime. You ARE my trainer. They thought you might need an Auburn fan as your co-pilot. See ya at the yards a week from Friday.:biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

So how do you handle the end of training? I suppose you drive your POV back home and your trainer drives up to you? I've been thinking about doing that, but I don't want to delay getting on the road by having to drive back to Michigan and sit at home and await a truck pulling up.

I mentioned I would rather drive my personal truck to SpringMO (the bus ride is almost 40hrs...) but was told that my trainer would be dropping me off back home and my POV would still be at SpringMO. I assume that this is because after the initial training I will need to convert my VA CDL Permit to a MO CDL and then convert that to a VA CDL? After that I get a 2nd trainer/team driver?

Went and picked up my bus tickets today. 24hour bus ride with a 3 1/2hr lay over in Columbus and 4 transfers. Cant wait....lol I have to admit having some trouble sleeping this week due to my anxiousness. Very excited to get started!

    GSWx Thanks this.

Sazook or U2 could probably answer this better, but to the best of my knowledge...

The end of the instructional phase is when you get your CDL, so one of your first trips out with your trainer will be back to the home 20 for CDL conversion. POV is still in SPRIMO. You could take POV home at this point, but its your dime to get back for the training phase.

You do the obligatory training, end up back at SPRIMO for upgrade, and truck assignment. POV is still at SPRIMO. You could take hometime at theis point, but its your dime to get back to SPRIMO and your truck. BTW... you'll want to run the truck through the home 20 to pick up more stuff to make life on the road easier.

So... IMO, its a lot easier just to put up with a ride on the grey dog or fly down to SPRIMO than to play musical home trips with a POV.

    DenaliDad and GSWx Thank this.

reptij. Have a good trip and do get some rest before mounting the Greyhound.

Road_Toad. If I pass next week and get an assigned driver I was thinking that I may get back to Springfield before getting back to coastal Alabama. I may be wrong. At some point and time I should get a few days off to drive my truck back home and either catch a ride back to Springfield or fly back on my own. For me, at least for now, it's about getting through next week. :yes2557:
