Well sitting at a Pilot in Kentucky right now. About 20 miles from my 01. Picking up a load in Indiana heading up to Michigan. Got an absolute ton of time on this load so I'm going to take my time and ease myself back into driving after my time off.
Didn't do too much today between horrid traffic and a massive headache I've had all day. So going to go to bed early and hope I can pick my load up tomorrow (if they're open), if not, I'll stay here and enjoy a day of laziness. (i.e. massive video game marathon)
Still great to be back on the road and much happier now as my truck is now 90% set up. My parents gave me a new mattress to replace the covered board with springs Prime gave me. My mom also put a mattress pad on it so the bed is super comfortable now.
On top of that I got a TV and a cooler (one of the plug in ones) for the truck. So now I finally got cold drinks and something to watch. Going to have Prime mount the TV when I'm in SpringMo next month for my APU. Plus I wanted to get them to put curtains up front as my curtains don't exactly cover the whole back.
Anyway. Things are going good and I've enjoyed being able to get back on the road. Though taking an hour to go 4 miles in Cincinnati I could have done without. Fourtantly James was there to listen to me ##### the whole time.
GSWx Thanks this. -

Well just finished my multi-drop load finally. Was a bit of a rough one as it involved some interesting HOS adjustment to be able to do, not to mention a lot of rain/snow driving and some night driving on little sleep on top of it.
But I'm happy I manned up and finished it, especially when I was uncertain about being able to do it.
Unfourtantely my shift ending with a pleasant argument with my FM. Basically we got into it a bit because the night dispatcher told me I could take a day to fix my hours so I could be back on day shift then my FM came in and gave me a 600 mile run to NC with no time on it that would have required me to run all night. I questioned him on this and told him I'd strongly prefer to be on days as I'm more comfortable with that, especially with the weather being as bad as it had been. In a nut shell, he got a bit snappy with me.
I talked to my trainer who then went and talked to my FM and basically found out my FM thought I had more hours then I did when in reality I had 5 minutes left on my 14. So I basically got chewed out for no reason. Lovely.
Anyway. Now got a 750 mile run to North Carolina that I'm picking up tonight. Only have to go down the street to pick it up, then going to come back here and sleep and drive the day tomorrow as I got a comfortable window of time on this load.
Was a bit disappointed by the treatment my FM gave me considering how hard I ran to work this multi drop load. But I guess thats just what trucking is.
As the great Rodney Dangerfield would say.
"I get no respect, I tell ya".

Might want to call ahead and ask about the deer guard. ORD tried to get one last week and they were on back order. -
Thanks, I passed on the message!

He gives you a load and you express to him that you "strongly prefer" running during the day... There is your FM's problem.
Reefer is the wrong division to express that to your FM.emton Thanks this.
