You couldn't put a gun to my head to get me into most ltl jobs. I love tank work, I wouldn't mind trying to haul gasoline someday but for now hauling water in the gas and oil fields pays my bills well enough.

I do chickens. Interesting everyday. Only downside is work outside, which really isnt bad unless its rining and cold.

Local fuel is tougher as far a driving is concerned if you deliver to C-stores . You're also very likely to work nights or very early a.m. hours .

I drive for Kenan Advantage Group, delivering to gas stations in the middle of the night. A lot of them are real tight to get in and out of, and theres usually a car in the way. Lots of fun asking people to move so you can deliver and having them get an attitude. Then there's the aspect of being robbed since the store is closed and you're the only guy around for miles, easy target for street walking low lives. But the pay is pretty good, can make $1200 a week and be home daily with 2 days off.

I know you would need 1 or 2 years exp for most fuel hauling companies but is there any ltl companies tht hire new graduates and if so what are they . If they don't how much experience do they look for

I got my first LTL job at YRC Reddaway (formerly know as USF Reddaway, also know as Reddaway) with 6 months experience. They said they weren't to worried about having a ton of experience since it's mostly 35 mph speed zones. Looking back on it I think that's a crazy statement because really I find it to be quite challenging on somedays... you should see some of the places I've squeezed into :) This job didn't end up working out for me but I'm still in the industry making a ton of cash and doing what I love. Best of luck! BTW, the company I work for just hired a guy straight out of school. He was extremely lucky and we were desperate but it's all working out well. So maybe you will be at the right place at the right time too!
