The newer the reefer unit the quieter it runs too.

I pull a noisy reefer and sleep like a baby. Someone pulls up with an apu ( a pissed off Briggs and Stratton) I'm up and down til 1 of us leaves.

Pick any truck stop. There's a din of idling engines, reefers, apus...doesn't matter where you park. Just buy a pair of earplugs and give up worrying.

The most annoying part of a modern reefer to me is the buzzer that goes off before it starts. I have no problem with a modern reefer let on continuous, but the cycle sentry mode just sucks. I'll take constant hum over beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeèeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
engine starting, the run up to high idle, then turning off over and over is so annoying.

Personally, I'm a magnet for all the remaining Carrier Thunderbirds still on the road, as well as the morons with APU's who's exhaust blows right under my sleeper.

So I parked last night at 4 I was out by 430 I was to tired to care that the reefer was running. I do seem to always have noisy trucks pull next to me at night.

I set myself up with this for sure there was a dozen parking spots and I picked the pull in lesson learned don't take the easy spot lol.

I don't mind banging on doors but id rather not wake anyone especially since I knew this guy was there when I pulled in.

It piss' me off when I find a truck stop with several acres of parking and no one ever wants to park out on the very back of the lot (dirt) facing the mountain side to get some peace and quiet with the windows open and truck cut off until I do and with so much empty space some other jerk with a reefer that makes more noise than the space shuttle and a railyard combind parks right next to me. It irritates the #### out of me.

lol i know my reefer is annoying so i pushed my boss to get me a Espar airtronic D4 truck heater kit w/mini controller 12 volt. freaked when i got told it cost $1,600.00 but compared to a APU i can rough it a bit. Told him i really hate idling my rig even when parked near others i prefer to be as nice as i can.

Reefer trailers don't belong in truckstops anyway. They ain't got time:clock: to stop and sleep. Gotta go:Courier: !

Or at least it was that way when I hauled produce:headbang:. Back then I was used to the noise, kind of a soothing background symphony:smt035, put you to sleep.:sleepy2: I always tried to park away from others, but sometimes there just was no way.:smt110
