It separates the men from the boy.
Located at mile post 33 on the Alaska Highway in Canada. Just north of Dawson Creek BC which is mile 0 and about 267 miles south of Fort Nelson BC. Don't know why the driver mentions Ft. Nelson in his video.

Prairie Boy Thanks this. -
Thanks.

Did you ever have the "pleasure" of driving the old Beaton river hill?.
-
Yes I have. In 1972 the rail went as far as the beatton River air strip. We off loaded 3 pressure vessels onto trucks We travelled the railroad right of way as it wasn't built yet. We have 2 D8's up front and a grader which also pulled a cook shack on skids. We also needed the dozer for pulling and holding back on steep hills.
We hauled all the loads up to Pointed Mountain Northwest Territories into the Amoco Gas Plant contruction site.
Now you can run up there in a few hours by turning off at Mile 317 north of Nelson and run the hiway that was built when the pipeline was built from that plant to Ft. Nelson compresoor station. -
He says he is on his way to ft. Nelson and this is the first big hill on the way there.
-
Been there, done that, and I think there are worse areas to drive in BC. I didn't find Taylor to be a problem at all, but maybe it's just me. And no, it's not me being macho or anything. I find it worse driving on the 6 between Vernon and Nakusp. Well, maybe just to the ferry, not all the way to Nakusp.

I have yet to find a hill more challenging to drive than Richmond to shwartz bay at 4pm
