391 shows fuel shut off valve,
364 shows fuel pump control module. -
is that on the vp 44 pump or the ECM
-
As I remember '02 engine has Bosch VP44 fuel pump. and it is a big problem
391 is the bad fault code. There is comntrol board on injection pump. There are two power FETs on it. They are cooled with fuel flow. And if you pump in fuel with starter (when you ran out fuel) it may go bad.
364 is ECM Pump commumication fault. may be bad wiring.. may be bad pump. engine wont starting.
115 - engine speed problems. may be bad wiring/sensor ore may be engine runs rought ore stalls.
234 - engine overspeed. usually related with pump going bad, engine selfrevs and stalls....
373 - fuel pump used shut off valve to stall self reveng engine (if code is stored).
369 - ECM - pump sihronisation fault.... it is bad
434 - kl. 30 low voltage (hah, you tried to start engine till battery was low)
362 - fuel metering circut went bad
VP 44 is expencive and very difficult to fix, remove and install injection pump, but it is very accurate and was ready to E3 and EPA 2003 emissions.
Was used on MAN L series engines and on Cummins ISB. But becouse of many problems MAN and Cummins switched to Common rail with MS6.4, MS7 and CM570 control units.
There are two workshops in Ukraine, where they rebuld VP series pumps. Equipment is expencive. Parts too. So trucks with VP pumps are much cheapper here.
So look for Bosch workshop. Cummins and MAN dealers can change pump with new -
i have the vp 44 power relay powered with a toggle and the ground paralleled. So the pump should be powered up all the time could the the fuel pump fuel solenoid fail even when seeing 12v constant with out the ECM controlling it.
-
Sorry, we don't get into these engines, no one around here really has any.
-
It is overpriced!
So look for later engines becouse later Bosch discontinued VP pumps and they introduced CRD for small truck with MS7 ECM, so later all Cummins ISB, ISL, ISF, MAN TGL, IVECO and other got Bosch CRD system.
Yep, I do not like CRD, but it is much better, more precision, more reliable and less expencive then VP series pumps -
