Payroll screwups are flustrating. All. Payments to stevens come first and if you do not transflo every week you will look like you were double deducted.

Also you need to ask your DM to look into the reasons, as that is his actual jjob.

Also as asked you need to see the complete statement not the abbreviated one on the QC.

For the pay raise it starts 6 months after your hire date on your ID badge not 6 months after you started the school. And then raise begins on the next trip you start after that date.

Complaign away. You might get some relief and ways to get it straitened out.

Office staff rarely return calls. Leave a detailed message of the problem and then call each day asking for an update. Usually i get a QC message telling me what they have found and corrected.

    nascarchuck and Rattlebunny Thank this.

I agree with the answers you got so far, so I'll just say so instead of the long quoted post.
Nothing in their replies I see needing corrected or added to.
$500-$600 a week at first on your own is about right. I posted my income my first weeks on this thread somewhere. lol
I had $400 weeks too. Now I see more, but I still get short weeks. It works that way. You never do the same miles week after week.

    tarheelblau Thanks this.

Hey all, I have been lurking for a few weeks and have read about 150 pages of this thread...:biggrin_25519:

I am 1/2 way thru CDL school (NETTTS) and have Stevens as choice #1A/B. I am about to do the phone interview now that I have the pre-hire but want to know about how long it will take. Also, what types of questions will be asked? I want to set aside enough time and have the materials/information needed as to not sound like a dunce...any ideas? Also, how is the current climate? Is it still the 3-5 weeks out before home time or has that changed?

How are you liking the T700's if you have one?

Thanks in advance as this is my 1st post...

    Jared

Hope you are all safe out there in the snow. Especially since the locals dont know how to drive in it. I rolled across the high platueas of utah colorado and into new mexico. Crystal clear no wind and that great blue sky. Headed to san antonio with 44,200 in the box. I can fill up too.

Hit a deer tonight (well he actually hit me.) Not much damage, but enough to put me in the Peterbilt house here in Garden City, KS tomorrow. So frustrating, because now I'll have to deal with safety when I go to the yard. I can hear Harold now: "Why weren't you going 30 instead of 55?" Why didn't you pray to God and ask him to keep the deer in place?" "Why didn't you fly the truck over the deer?" "Go watch 5 videos about decision making!" It really stinks because I was just down all day yesterday at Kenworth in Denver. Now I'm going to be down for God knows how long here. Darn hood won't even open!

    Here's the carnage:

    What a day!
Got our delivery done with seconds to spare in NY, then finished our break with 30 other trucks in the receiver's lot. Sure is nice when you find a receiver that is set up for OTR. Lot's of parking, no hassle, restrooms available 24/7.
Then off to the TA for a shower and hot meal.
When we picked up this trailer, it was time sensitive, so we did only a cursory inspection. (that and we were parked in the mud)
So, got down on the ground and checked it more carefully.
Holy Smoke! We ended up replacing four tires. Two had steel cord showing thru, one had spots rotted away and literally falling apart.
The last's tread was too shallow.
I felt really bad because I stress the tires on trailers to the students, and here I blew it!
As my student said, "at least there was air in them. We checked that."
So finally, after several hours, we were done and made it down to Giorgios for some mushrooms headed to St Louis.
    In the dock now.
Remember that thread a short while back concerning expiring med cards and not getting to the yard?
Well I've been all over everyone for the last three weeks concerning mine expiring 12/1.
Guess who will be in St Louis when it expires.
Hence the reason why I carry a second med card (good for 2 years) from an outside doctor.
Panic setting in all over Dallas, when I told them about the second card.
    "Fax a copy!"
"Check the files. Same card as last time we had this problem."
A few minutes later, "OK, all is good. We'll get you back."
    Oh for joy!
So, barring some amnesia on the part of routing, we should be back to the yard soon.

Yep, the lot lizzards there are bold too. I had one walk up and pull open my door to ask if I wanted company. Sad thing is she looked like she was maybe 15. Not only is it just wrong in the first place, but some ####### trucker is going to get caught with her and wind up a sex offender.:biggrin_2554:

I agree with what others have said ... definitely pursue this. I would have to say that their double dipping would be illegal and therefore must be a mistake, but bring it up to them as soon as you can. :biggrin_25521:

Glad the new DM is working out. Best advice I could give you is to make him / her your best friend. Visit when you're on the yard, call a couple of times a week with a question. It's human nature to help your friends, not that they would do that on purpose. :biggrin_25525:

    Let us know what happens.

What appears to be a double dip happens any time one does not transflo each week. The computer takes payments to stevens first each week even if you dont have any income.
