Just getting the forum to the state it is today where you guys can post is enough for me. Not really interested in attracting that kind of attention right now... besides I have to work off my "bad boy" points.
I really didn't try to start a fight with that one jerk!![]()

Does that "1/1 (5)" mean you have one infraction of a possible 5? And does it disappear after a while?

Some people agitate on the CB some on here. Just some people get upset over it.

I will Chronicle my prime experience here. It is my thread. Fiscally I am very conservative and politically as well. What that means in a nutshell is that I and I alone control my future. My Truck is a tool, Prime is a tool, My single goal is to be the best possible LO I can be.
Can I make it as an LO? Can you? the question is too broad. My choice is based on the fact that my family has no debt. Our expenses are WAY below the national average. We carry 4 to 6 months of expenses in the bank no matter who I work for. This only highlights the reality of how I live my daily life.
For instance I purchased a fridge for my truck. I bought used. just under 200 bucks. that and my 17 dollar crock pot and inherited micro wave means I will cook my own meals on the road and in a month save the 200 for the fridge.
The reality is this, fuel is a huge expense and I trust that I can control this expense well. After that "perdiem" is also high so I plan to work that as low as possible. on top of that I have specific 3 month 6 month and 12 month goals. I laid that out with my FM. He agreed my plan is workable and unless the industry tanks is very doable. If he could not have agreed I would have chosen different.
I spent 12 months researching this industry before deciding on Prime. Are there other carriers where profit can be better maximized? Possibly! but for my experience in the industry FOR ME Prime offers the best option.
Before we bash another poster remember this each of us have a different life experience. I have met SEEBS. he is a great guy but young. I have met SAZOOK great guy and can run a truck. I have not met U2 or IP but in reading their post (which helped me a lot) I suspect they have a few years into life.
Look, For some Prime company is the best option for some Prime lease is the best. In the end we are all responsible for our choices and then must make the best of those choicesDenaliDad Thanks this. -
We can only make the choices that are best for our own situations.

You can't tell that to people who think that everything revolves around their situation. The detractors are always those who believe that they are the shining example of why something should work but didn't -- Therefore, it can't. So anyone who believes otherwise or actually succeeds in something that they didn't is either lucky or an idiot.
God forbid... -
Was just saying how *I* believed. If you think you can make the lease work, go for it. If you feel the need to learn more about how trucking works before you lease/buy a truck, go for it.
Fact is, EVERY driver had that first day in the truck. Anyone who says different is full of male bovine excrement.DenaliDad Thanks this. -
Wasn't directed at your position on the issue, DTB. My point was that there's more unreasonable people on the issue.

Ive got a great memory and this is what concerns me.
I sure hope this isnt part of your gameplan. You've been with your trainer running team freight, running team revenue with yourself as cheap trainee labor.... crunching numbers under this trainer/trainee model.
Yes, Ironpony and others can attest that you can make money as a Solo L/O... However, everyone else will tell you that you can make more money by becoming a trainer.
Just because Prime lets drivers train somebody after 3 months does not make it right.
Anyone who thinks they should be training with less than a year on their own is short changing the trainee with experiance and knowledge. Its a form of abuse. Frankly, in my opinion, the trainer has no defense against an argument of abusing the trainee as cheap labor.
(For the un-informed, a trainer is not an instructor)
