How limiting is it to start at Schneider without Hazmat endorsement?
Maybe I'm pressuring myself too much. Am delaying going in to sit for the CDL pic and get my hardcopy(passed road/backing/pretrip this past friday) so I can pass the written. Have only taken twice and did a little better on the second try.
Only downside I can see right now would be having to pay BMV another 47 to update endoresement.

They want all drivers to have it i let mine expire and haven't renewed it and it's been 4 plus years. But if you get it you will then be able to roll when hazmat is only freight in the area youre in.

Moot point now!! I passed!!!!
Have just went through the over the phone medical stuff and have to take another DOT physical tomorrow a.m. Hair pee, etc. Have NO worries there. Dont D/D.
Would tentatively start orientation in Indy on the 10th.
I opted for the busticket. She(recruiter Danelle) said they would pay for a bus back or perhaps a rental car after orientation? Anyone heard if thats a realistic possibilty? -
Who know's but don't ever let your hazmat expire. It's a $100 to renew and keep it and you can easily make that back on one good hazmat load and have those opportunities open for you always.

Yup. Tried to go into this allowing for the most potential. Now , to just get the experience in a safe efficient manner. All professional like!!!

been with SNI for almost 6 months, have only pulled one hazmat load.
I recommend getting it, but it isn't required. -
I pulled two in one year, both were really good loads. Doesn't bother me not to have a premium. It's work I wouldn't otherwise get. Like my passport. They sent me to Canada a number of times in a row, at one point. Hmm, would I have chosen Montreal or some more north Jersey, on NE Regional???

I have both the endorsement(now) and the passport card. The PP card came about because of a little place outside of Windsor, On. Close to Harrow.Right on the lake. I hope to still make arrangements to be able to get up there for those weekends in Feb and July.

I am hoping to come to Schneider after the first of the year. Have the testing and paperwork, prints, done for hazmat. Just haven't taken it to the dmv to get it put on my license. If I wait will Schneider pay for it. Also is a passport required? I have talked to a recruiter about midwest regional. So I wouldn't think that I would be going into Canada.

Schneider used to reimburse for it but not pay for it up front. if you have it when you hire on they will only reimburse the cost to renew it when it's due i believe. I think they prefer you to have one but it's not required. A recruiter should be able to tell you. I never got the passport.
