thats awesome everyone come to may 4 drivers out of 900 are getting great miles could u be the fifth to get great miles to everyone come to may.

I was just in denver and they re running a puppy mill they dont even have trucks for the new hires even tho they just got some new ones up there, they need to focus on driver retention and people would stop quiting and then there would be no need for hiring 50 people every week between all the yards.

Joker: technically, me plus the other guys is already 5 lol

Every day on here, makes me want to post that much more, or never again. Everyone on here just is so negative. If it's that bad...LEAVE! If you're so awesome, and May doesn't realize your greatness, any other company should be salivating at the mere thought or your applying with them. Truck drivers should run the world's governments, because no matter what happens, it is never the fault of the truck driver, they can do no wrong!
This is directed at noone in particular mind you, it just gets old reading everybody's misery...as I'm sure everyone having a negative experience is tired of reading of my positive experience(s)
It just reminds me why I raerly go inside truck stops, or talk to other truck drivers unless it cannot be avoided...lol

    Now,back on track:
Gryphon, keep us posted as to what happens!!

if im not mistaken, but i might be wrong ive never complained on here about my miles on here. and im not complaining now im at 2000 right now in brooks but getting service done so im on pace for a good week if i get a delivery by tuesday, if not on pace to a great week for next week. but who knows anything can happen where i end up with less than projected. and thats with no student onboard!!! but i do agree with if someone is posting on here bout having crappy weeks u shouldnt start talking about how great ur week is or weeks. I know i did that to plat a couple months ago and i shouldnt of. And i also agree with plat. It doesnt matter what terminal u are out of. Its all luck i was in wyoming and met a guy thats been with MAY for a week and got a load from Wa to Maine It doesnt matter how long you've been here its where you re at. Like my 1st student ran 700 miles this week on a fresh 70 they gave him 3 days to go from phx to fontana and then sat for 2 days in fontana and got a load yesterday back to phx and doesnt deliver til tomorrow. and from what i heard theres about 10 may guys sitting all weekend out in fontana. Now, i was going off hometime and got 2 back 2 back loads going from wa to nj and the other maine but they both dropped at our yards due to hometime. they asked me if i wanted to deliver them but declined due to an important hometime. So if you re running great than thats awesome but dont preach about it to someone whos been struggling to get good miles thats the last thing they wanna hear!!!!

I've never posted to rub it in, simply to give a different perspective. I have a friend who, for his 1st 6 months at May, I had to talk off the ledge every other day. 1300-1800/wk...I just kept telling him to hang in there, that sooner or later, it would all even out. He is coming up on his one year anniversary next month, and now gets 2600+/wk on average.

Yes i agree, thats what i told my student. You have to hang in there and u can make good money doing this and when u do u have to save some of it. I dont care who u are or how long someone has been where or how short. Theres gonna be bad weeks so u have to save when u have great weeks. So when u have a bad week it doesnt bother u. Thats why it doesnt really bother me when i have a bad week.

I had a great week last week, until the tax man bent me over a rail and said "take it b1Tcharley". Yeah, I'm happy with 2500 miles a week. Hell anything over 1300 miles a week is better money than my last job, so I'll take it. I'd like 2500 every week, but sometimes you can't deliver on a Sunday. Bummer.

Justawheelholder has an "Ernest Saves Christmas" complex ;-)

Don't worry man, May Trucking was doing alright before you got here a year ago and will be just fine long after you're gone...

You'd make a great DM though, a real company man and a bit of a blind spot when it comes to extending compassion to those who have expressed genuine frustrations here.

    Think about it...

How slow does a truck have to be to make a 2500 mile week good?

How much do they pay per mile? Running 2500 miles per week, I'd hope its close to 40 cpm.
