Freight will be at $25.25/hr and around 63 cents per mile in 3 weeks...Parcel is at $31-32/hrBoonie Thanks this.
-
What do you mean by the "3 weeks"?
-
We get a raise January 1st. I guess thats closer to 4 weeks.
Right now in our contract we get a raise every January 1st and July 1st.Boonie Thanks this. -
Well, over at browncafe, one person is saying that Parcel has a big Louisville hub where I could get hired on for delivery and then I should wait. Delivery?
-
I guess they mean driving a package car. The good news for you is that both UPS and UPS Freight have big facilities in Louisville.Boonie Thanks this.

Wonder if one could drive the package car locally and then transfer to the Louisville Parcel when a TT opening comes up...? To put it bluntly, I just don't want to get too involved with one side or the other and then find out I just screwed myself because of the no-hire policy once you've worked for one side or the other.

Ive read about transfers on the Browncafe. On the parcel side, they will let you transfer, if there is an opening, but you lose your seniority. The Freight side wont let you transfer at all anymore.Boonie Thanks this.

Well, at least my foot is in the door with UPS as a lowly driver helper
. The driver today told me I did "fantastic", lol, and wants me to work with her tomorrow. So, that's a good sign. At least this short-term gig will be a good mark on the resume (or transfer form). It's also kind of neat getting to see what the drivers of the package cars do. Too bad the TT drivers don't get helpers.

They make you wear a uniform?
